Who this visit is for
Fertility monitoring (natural cycles, medicated cycles, IUI/IVF)
Early pregnancy confirmation, dating, and viability (typically 5.5–10+ weeks)
OB limited studies requested by your clinician, including:
Growth/Estimated Fetal Weight (EFW)
Amniotic Fluid Index (AFI) or deepest pocket
Fetal position/presentation (head-down vs breech)
Cervical length (often transvaginal)
Biophysical Profile (BPP)
A referral from your provider is recommended/required for diagnostic studies.
Pricing & billing
We are cash-pay . . Fees vary by exam type (e.g., EFW/AFI, position check, cervical length, BPP). If a transvaginal scan is recommended for clarity, we will explain why and review any additional fee before proceeding. See Packages & Pricing for details.
Safety & comfort
Ultrasound uses sound waves—no radiation. Transvaginal exams use a covered, high-level-disinfected probe and typically cause only mild pressure. You may decline any portion of the exam; doing so may limit what we can document.

Exam types we offer
Early Pregnancy Confirmation & Viability
We assess intrauterine location, gestational and yolk sacs, CRL with estimated gestational age, and cardiac activity when visible, along with maternal structures (uterus/ovaries).
Fertility Monitoring
Targeted evaluation of follicle count/size, endometrial thickness/appearance, and other findings your provider needs for cycle planning.
OB Limited (2nd/3rd Trimester)
Focused, question-based ultrasounds (not a full anatomy scan unless specifically ordered):
EFW (Growth): Standard fetal biometry (e.g., HC/AC/FL as appropriate) to estimate weight and percentile. If prior studies exist, we comment on interval growth.
AFI / Deepest Pocket: Assessment of amniotic fluid volume per your provider’s preference.
Fetal Position/Presentation: Confirmation of cephalic vs breech/other presentation, useful near delivery planning.
Cervical Length: Measurement of the cervix; transvaginal imaging may be recommended for accuracy and is performed only with consent.
Biophysical Profile (BPP): Ultrasound evaluation of fetal breathing, movement, tone, and amniotic fluid (0–8 points). If your provider requests a modified BPP with NST, the NST component is performed in their clinical setting.
All images and measurements are reviewed by a board-certified radiologist, and a formal report is provided.
How the appointment works
Check-in & history. We confirm gestational age/cycle day, symptoms, medications, and provider information.
Imaging approach. We usually start transabdominal. For very early pregnancy or cervical length, we may recommend transvaginal for clarity—only with your consent. A trained chaperone is available on request.
Time in studio. Most visits take 20–30 minutes, depending on the ordered study.
Wrap-up. You’ll receive a friendly overview and next steps while the radiologist finalizes your report.
